Nearly one year after Lawrence General Hospital acquired the two Holy Family Hospitals from the collapse of Steward Health Care, the group will be rebranded as the Merrimack Valley’s first regional health care system.The three hospitals and affiliated practices will be rebranded under the banner Merrimack Health. In a statement, hospital officials said the name was developed through conversations with staff and community stakeholders. “Merrimack Health is a health care system rooted in community,” said Diana Richardson, interim president and CEO of Merrimack Health. “Our name and our brand reflect our commitment to improving the health and well-being of the region — ensuring every person has access to trusted, compassionate care close to home.”The hospital campuses will now be known as Merrimack Health Lawrence Hospital, Merrimack Health Haverhill Hospital, and Merrimack Health Methuen Hospital. Community physician practices will be known as Merrimack Health Community Medical Associates. Lawrence General became the operator of Holy Family Hospital-Methuen and Holy Family Hospital-Haverhill in October 2024. The new Merrimack Health logo incorporates “a subtle nod to the Merrimack River” with the linkage of some letters. Officials said the linked characters symbolize Merrimack Health’s momentum forward.In May, Boston Medical Center changed the names of the two hospitals it had acquired from Steward to Boston Medical Center-South and Boston Medical Center-Brighton.
